ザック・ニュージェントは、現代におけるジェリー・ガルシアおよびグレイトフル・デッドの音楽の第一人者であり、最も重要な表現者の一人です。かつてメルヴィン・シールズ＆JGBのギタリストを務めた実力派であり、フィル・レッシュ＆フレンズでの活動をはじめ、グレイトフル・デッドやフィッシュのメンバー、ピーター・ローワンら数多くのレジェンドたちとステージを共にしてきました。
10年以上にわたり、自身のバンド「ザック・ニュージェント・デッド・セット（Zach Nugent’s Dead Set）」を率いて熱狂的なファンベースを築き上げてきた彼は、ガルシアの音楽の伝統に深い敬意を払いながら、その音楽を不朽のものたらしめた大胆な即興演奏（インプロヴィゼーション）によって、楽曲に新たな息吹を与え続けています。
過去の来日公演の成功に続き、2026年、日本のグレイトフル・デッド・コミュニティとの特別なライブシリーズやコラボレーションのため、ザックが再び日本の地を踏みます。
Zach Nugent is one of today’s leading interpreters of the music of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead. A former guitarist with Melvin Seals & JGB, Zach has also performed with Phil Lesh & Friends and shared the stage with members of the Grateful Dead and Phish, Peter Rowan, and many more.
For more than a decade, Zach has built a devoted following through his own band, Zach Nugent’s Dead Set, bringing Garcia’s music to life with a deep respect for its tradition and the fearless improvisation that made it timeless.
Following previous performances in Japan, Zach returns in 2026 for a special series of shows and collaborations with the Japanese Grateful Dead community.
